| Ladies
and gentlemen (and those inbetween), please say hello to Gretchen and Kevin!
  "I'd
like to share the experiences my boyfriend and I have had in the name
of John Waters and the Dreamland players.....
 In
1997, we took a two day trip to Baltimore from Cleveland for the sole
purpose of tracking down sites of John Waters' films and to just hang
around looking for clues of Dreamland players. If you are going to be
going to "The Charm City", isn't this the perfect reason? Our
two main agendas were to visit Divine's grave and check out the once upon
a time thrift store Edith ran. We hit Fell's Point on our first adventure
and along with the thrift store (no assholism allowed!), we were repeatedly
reminded in other establishements that "Edith Was Here" or "John
Waters Was Here" or "Paul Swift" [the eggman] was here.
Oh it was so sad to see a little newspaper cutout of the eggman's obiturary
        at one shop. The
climax of the 48 hours was when we took a taxi from downtown baltimore
to towson and the confused taxi driver dropped us off in front of Prospect
Hills Cemetery. We had no idea where Divine's grave would be, so we ran
around looking at all the tombstones [until] kevin actually fell down
the hill that leads to Divine's grave! We [used] the tombstone of Divine's
grandparents to take pictures of both of us.
On a much more disturbing note, [last] halloween, as a tribute to our
favorite dreamland player Edith Massey, Kevin and I went as Edith and
the Egg Man. I bought all these oversized undergarments and stuffed them
with 3 bags of quilting batter and Kevin rented the perfect Eggman hat
at a costume store. Although i didn't get carried around in a wheelbarrow
all night, i did have eggs to give away!"
